Hiranosawa Pond

Located in Kameoka City, Hiranosawa is known as one of the "Three swamps of Kyoto" along with Osawa and Hirosawa in Saga. In Hiranosawa there are 3 ponds, the Upper pond, Middle pond and Lower pond, where different kinds of ducks and egrets as well as migrating birds are found. The ponds of Hiranosawa are also one of the few rare natural habitats of prickly waterlilies in Japan, and in the summer one can see beautiful waterlilies and walk along the "Path of Waterfowls".
