This is a traditional-industry touring facility for a hands-on experience of the traditional culture of Japanese clothing. It includes a Kimono fashion show and an opportunity to try on a Kimono. Available to wear are a12-layered Kimono of the women of the Imperial court as well as Kimono worn by Maiko (apprentice Geisha) and Geisha. Visitors can also rent a Kimono (Komon small-patterned Kimono) for a day while enjoying their Kyoto visit. Hand-weaving using a mini-loom is also offered as a hands-on experience.
There are three floors. The 1st floor is where the Kimono show takes place and souvenirs are sold. The 2nd floor contains the Japanese-silk studio where fabric is on display and sale. The 3rd floor is an archive of historical items.
