The traditional ball game kemari has a history in Japan stretching back over 1,400 years. Indispensible to the game is its deerskin ball. The only kemari master who produces these deerskin balls according to the traditional methods is in Kyotamba, Kyoto Prefecture. Yutatsu Ikeda has 45 years of experience as a kemari player, and in addition to a demonstration, he will also explain the essence of kemari to participants.

Because kemari cannot be played in the rain, the game will be replaced with a mini kemari-making activity.
- Participants with buckwheat allergies are asked to bring their own lunches. In this event, fees will not be refunded, but we will provide a separate souvenir.
- Please bring sneakers and a white, V-neck t-shirt (to wear under traditional Japanese clothing)
- When making your reservation, please tell us your height, shoe size, and whether you have buckwheat allergies.
Kemari costumes are available in sizes S - LL.
