Walk through the small private bamboo grove located in the garden, enjoy the sounds of nature, and take a moment to soak up the scenery.

The owners of Kochan Bettei, Kohei and Kiyomi, are more than eager to introduce the Japan that exists beyond the usual tourist routes. Guided tours to local shrines, visits with local artisans, various workshops, or meals using local ingredients are just a few of the many experiences available upon request.

Kochan Bettei is located in Kameoka city, and is easily accessible from Kyoto city. The nearest train station, JR Kameoka Station is only 30 minutes by train from JR Kyoto Station, or 10 minutes from JR Saga-Arashiyama Station.

Access

Take the Sagano Line from JR Kyoto Station, located at the north end of the station (Platforms 31, 32 and sometimes 33), to Kameoka Station

*Special Rapid Train: 10 minutes (Recommended if you have a JR pass).
*Rapid Express Train: 20 minutes
*Local Train: 30 minutes

From Kameoka Station you can choose either of the following: take the #40 Keihan Kotsu Bus to the Miyagawa Bus stop (30 minute bus ride then 1 minute walk from the bus stop), or take a taxi directly to Kochan Bettei (15 minute tax ride).

The owner can pick-up up to 4 guests from Kameoka Station if arranged beforehand.

The owner recommends taking the bus or a taxi if arriving with large luggage.
