Walk through the small private bamboo grove located in the garden, enjoy the sounds of nature, and take a moment to soak up the scenery.

The owners of Kochan Bettei, Kohei and Kiyomi, are more than eager to introduce the Japan that exists beyond the usual tourist routes. Guided tours to local shrines, visits with local artisans, various workshops, or meals using local ingredients are just a few of the many experiences available upon request.

This guesthouse is ideal for travelers who are curious about Japanese culture, interested in meeting the locals, and/or wish to see a more genuine-side of Japan. Leave with more than just photographs – with memories of the culture, people, and moments that make rural Kyoto unique.

Kochan Bettei is located in Kameoka city, and is easily accessible from Kyoto city. The nearest train station, JR Kameoka Station is only 30 minutes by train from JR Kyoto Station, or 10 minutes from JR Saga-Arashiyama Station.
