Farmhouse NaNa

This is a place where you can experience traditional country life.
Hozu is a rice-producing region that has prospered as a shoen (a manor in medieval Japan) for aristocrats since the Heian period (794-1185). On the site, there is a storehouse that dates back to the Edo period (1603-1867).

Guests who visit will stay in private rooms located in the main building where the house owner lives. The baths and toilets in the guest room (Japanese-style, with 8-tatami mat room, 6-tatami mat room, wide veranda) are for guests only. Here, you can use the refrigerator, microwave, washing machine and Wi-Fi.

Breakfast and dinner will be brought to the guest room.
You can also experience cooking dinner with the house owner in a separate building that has a kamado (furnace rice cooker). At the farm, you can harvest crops such as vegetables, light the kamado with firewood to make rice and miso soup, and bake pizza and more in the stone oven.

On the site, there are also silky fowls, Japanese honeybees, cats and other animals that you can interact with.

With bicycles available to rent free of charge, you can also explore the area. Please enjoy the beautiful rural landscape here.

If you have time, we can also guide you around the attractions.

Seventh Home

This is a large old house that has been around for 100 years.
Behind the house, there are fields and streams where you can experience picking vegetables in the morning and play in the river. The meals offered here are dishes that center around seasonal organic vegetables.
From the bathroom with large windows, there are days when you can see the starry sky and hear the sound of insects.
The owner of the house, who is a vegetable sommelier and a keen yoga practitioner, moved here from Tokyo with her family in the spring of 2018, after being enchanted by the scenery and people of Shigasato.
She loves to talk to people and is here waiting for visitors with the anticipation of making “once in a lifetime encounters,” alongside her husband, who has experience living in the United States, and her friendly son.
