Kasamatsu Park is located in the "Kyoto by the Sea" area on the side of Mt. Nariai. The park has an observation deck looking out over Amanohashidate, one of the "Three most scenic spots in Japan". The view of Amanohashidate from the north side of the park is called "Shoryukan" because of its looks like a dragon ascending to the heavens. It is also home to the "Upside-down View" or "Matanozoki". From the observation deck, you stick your head between your legs and look out at Amanohashidate. With the world upside down, Amanohashidate will look like a floating bridge to the heavens.

The observation deck of Kasamatsu Park also has many fun ways to spend the day such as the "Bell of Wishes" that is said to make your wish come true if you ring it and a heart-shaped "Love Chair" that is especially popular with couples. What's more you can pray for good luck by doing "Kawarake nage", which is throwing disk-shaped pottery through a ring attached to the end of a long pole. Ama Terrace has cafés and souvenir shops as well as a restaurant called "Ama Dining" that has a panoramic view of the sea. Enjoy a meal while taking in the spectacular views of Amanohashidate and the Sea of Japan. In spring, you can enjoy beautiful cherry blossoms that line cable car and lift tracks
